This role is responsible for leading the development of innovative training and development strategies that meet the diverse needs of the Justice Advocacy Service (JAS) employees, JAS volunteers and our key stakeholders, NSW criminal justice agencies.
(JAS) supports people with cognitive impairment in contact with the NSW criminal justice system, including as victims, witnesses and suspects/defendants to exercise their rights and fully participate in the process.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven 3-5 years’ experience and expertise as a training manager
- High level leadership and supervision capability with a proven track record managing and/or leading teams
- Sound risk management and decision-making skills
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- Proven track record in managing and delivering complex projects on time, budget, meeting KPIs
- Proven track record in designing and executing successful training programs end-to-end using a range of formats
- Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong eye for detail and advanced record keeping skills
- Proficiency in MS office
- Willingness to travel across NSW
Note: Working with Children and Criminal Clearances are required.
Desired
- Degree in education, training, human resources or related field
- Previous experience working with people with cognitive impairment
- Community and government sector experience an advantage
- Knowledge of the NSW criminal justice system an advantage
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and complex trauma an advantage.
