The first of the 2024 NSW Volunteer of the Year regional award ceremonies kicked off in Sydney mid-August. Philip Saggers represented JAS to for the JAS Team award nomination – a wonderful recognition of the dedication and commitment of all of our volunteers to support people in need.
Jenny Bargen, Sydney volunteer, was the overall winner of the Volunteer of the Year Awards!!! Jenny has been volunteering with JAS for over 10 years and has been at the forefront of client supports at court and police stations. Jenny has been a skillful and kind volunteer, supporting clients even in supreme court trials. Jenny’s expertise and knowledge has assisted our team to develop new training content, and support the Sydney staff with her understanding of the justice system.
Jenny accepted the award and said, “This is a great recognition of JAS and people with cognitive impairment”.
