Central Sydney staff from JAS, Ability Rights Centre, Legal Aid, IDRS and NSWCID joined together to celebrate NAIDOC week where this years theme was “For our Elders”. We participated in a lovely smoking ceremony conducted by our Aboriginal Engagement worker Dean McLaren, it was a beautiful, moving experience, followed by a lovely morning tea and viewing of the Dream Time Story of the Rainbow Serpent. Staff were able to answer questions and reflect on all the amazing Elders within our Indigenous Communities, all of their teachings and contributions. It was a very special morning enjoyed by everyone who attended.
