IDRS is looking for enthusiastic rights focussed people to act as mentors for people with intellectual disability for their ILC funded Rights Champion Project.
Rights Champion mentors will work closely with and support a Rights Champion and their project. The mentors will be involved in assisting with the conception, development and delivery of projects aimed at informing people (with cognitive impairment) about their rights.
The Rights Champion Project will commence in February and finish at the end of June.
Mentors will be employed on a casual basis under the SCHADS award, level 4. They will require a current WWCC and current satisfactory Criminal Record check
Your application must include a statement explaining how you meet each of these following selection criteria:
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a rapport with people with intellectual disability
- Experience supporting people with intellectual disability in a similar role
- Being a positive role model
